The Veritans Club: Supporting New Jersey Youth Since 1927

In 1927, a group of Jewish professionals in Paterson, New Jersey came together with a shared sense of purpose: build a community rooted in friendship, service, and giving back. They formed the Veritans Club, a civic and philanthropic organization dedicated to the well-being of the families around them. In those early years, the Club organized summer programs for local children right on the rooftop of the Paterson YMHA. As the program grew, so did the vision, and in 1949, they purchased the land in Haledon that Camp Veritans calls home today.

Today, the Veritans Club is composed of dedicated volunteers who carry that original mission forward, ensuring that every child, regardless of personal circumstances, has the opportunity to experience the transformative power of camp. What began on a city rooftop has grown into a 60-acre summer home for thousands of children across northern New Jersey.

One of the Veritans Club's most meaningful commitments is its scholarship program. The Club provides financial assistance to families who need support, so that no child misses out on camp because of cost. To learn more or to apply, visit our Rates and Registration page.
